I Have No Clothes…

Sunday, June 3rd, 2007

When I came to England to live I left most of my clothes at home. Let my friends and family to have some that they fancied. I preferred to bring lots of my favorite books, cd’s and bagsJ. My luggage was overweight that my best friend took home one of the bags and sent it over for me J

It was autumn when I arrived in England. My parents in law picked me up at Heathrow airport as my husband had to go to work. After they gave me hug and saying “welcome Mrs. Luckin” J they amazed how heavy the luggage I brought.

A week after I was over my jetlag days my beloved husband took me for shopping. I bought the warmest clothes for sure. Most of them are woolliesJ , boots and a couple of winter jackets.

Finally weather gets warmer I can put all my woolies in storage. I suddenly have no clothes. Well, I mean I feel like J. My husband was laughing to see me standing in front of my wardrobe quite awhile not knowing what to wear. He said “it is not like in Indonesia, isn’t it? When you buy clothes you can wear them the whole year”

“Oh well…” that’s all I could say J

“Let’s go to Brighton and buy some clothes for you” he said then.

In Brighton we went to lots of shops and in one of those shops I tried 6 clothes and I liked just 4 of them. He also liked to see me wearing them and said “get them all I pay for you”. Some girls near us were looking at him amazed. But I made them drop their jaws as my answer was “Thanks, but I just get these 2 if it’s alright.”

“Are you sure?” he said again.

“100% sure, babe” was the answered I said

I am not a shopper in fact. Most of the time, I buy clothes and/or accessories only if I need to. To be honest I am not a fashionable person as well. I dress up for comfort. And most of the time my age dictates my style. Shoes??? I am more confident flats boots or ballet pump dainty. Though that doesn’t mean I don’t have high heels J But… Don’t even get me started on bags. I used to buy lots of bag. One time, I even bought a bag that didn’t look good with any of my clothes. In the end that bag stayed in my ‘special cupboard’ for awhile.

People change J I do not shop for bags that much anymore. Some new bags I have are gifts from my husband, mum in law and Ann, her best friend. I enjoy buying things for our house more nowadays.

Anyhow, summer in front of the door. Let’s welcome it in any way we like to J enjoy the spell of the sun.
